relevance and importance to news consumers – a Hearst Fellowship
may be right for youThe Fellowship is a
biennial, 18-month program focusing on multimedia journalism.
The Fellowship program consists of two 9-month rotations at our top metro papers.
Fellows can expect to write stories, shoot
and produce their own videos, blog and use social media to raise
awareness of their work. You don’t have to be perfect at all
these skills when you enter the program, but you will be by the
time you finish.

Sharon Hong is from La Canada, California. She is a
graduate of the University of Southern California with a BA
in English Literature. Sharon earned her MA in Print
Journalism in May of 2008. Some of the places that Sharon
has interned are MTV News, and Associated Press, London
Bureau. Sharon's first rotation was at the Times Union in Albany, NY.

Alejandro is originally from Mexico. He is a 2006 graduate of the University of Texas at Austin with a B.A. in Journalism.
He has previously worked as an editor/translator for Knight Center for Journalism and has interned at Rumbo de Austin and Dow Jones Newswires.
Alejandro has also written weblogs for the San Antonio Express-News from Mexico City during the Mexican presidential election in 2006.
Alejandro's first rotation was at the San Antonio Express-News.

Humberto Martinez is a native Houstonian. He is a 2008 graduate of Texas Tech University in Lubbock, TX with
a Bachelor's in Journalism and Photocommunications. Humberto has a passion for photography but desires to perfect
his reporting skills as well. Humberto interned at The Lubbock Avalanche-Journal and served as the editor
of photography for Tech ImPRESSions - Texas Tech Student Magazine. Humberto began his rotations at The Beaumont Enterprise.
